The New weBoost

(Full Disclosure: weBoost sent me their new Drive Reach OTR to test out).

I recently installed the new weBoost Drive OTR on my Turtleback Trailer Expedition model. I have been running the previous generation on my Land Rover for the last year or so and was very impressed with its service boosting performance.

When I was told that the new weBoost was 72% better than the generation I was running, I was a bit skeptical. How much better could it be? Boy was I surprised.

Not only is the look of the antenna new (and cooler I would add), but the boosting performance is significantly better. Now, don’t get me wrong, the previous generation did not leave me wanting, but the new one is quite incredible.

I installed the new weBoost on my trailer because I believe it is one of the best applications for this product. Not only can I run it to an auxiliary switch and power it full-time with my large trailer batteries, but the booster antenna is close to where I am hanging out at camp.

Now most of the time, I do not need to be texting while at camp, but when I do, I do not have to go turn my car’s accessory power on to boot it up.

Let me give you an example of how good the boosting is. The video below is taken in my fully metal framed and roof shop. I have one bar of service. I am not able to send a text message or receive a phone call. Take a look at the bars and how they jump once the booster is turned on.

Overall, I would highly recommend weBoost’s booster. The performance increase is well worth the investment and it makes things just a little bit easier at camp if you need to use your phone.
